Seniors
You can find the senior GLBT community throughout the Triangle from retirees joining working professionals at the Triangle Business & Professional Guild meetings to all ages of women volunteering their time and strength with Strong Women Organizing Outrageous Projects. In true southern style, there are women's potlucks every month in Raleigh. Here you'll find women in the 40+ crowd. Durham is the proudly the host for the National Convention of Old Lesbians Organizing for Change in 2006. Many senior centers in the area are welcoming of the GLBT community and you can find kindred spirits at times in a morning exercise class. Started recently by a local senior looking for friendship (and love!) is Silver Roses a group for women 50+ and "for those who love them"! Weekly they meet at a local coffeehouse in Raleigh. For more information on Silver Roses contact grayangel_61@yahoo.com. All are welcome! We are fortunate to have the wisdom and expertise of the senior GLBT community as many serve on boards and committees of local organizations.
